Paper Poppies

Watercolor, 2000, 9”x12”.

These paper flowers sat on a black stone mantelpiece in our rented apartment in Paris. I was experimenting with grainy paint, as you can see especially in the black mantel. This is the basis of the print in 2021, Poppies Printed Two Ways. Amazing how memory persists and produces work years later. Just a great reason never to discard anything.
