Idol I

Glass and steel, 2010, ~20"x 5"x3".

Sometimes things just work out! Take some cast-off steel barn door sliders and some trial plate glass panels that didn't work at the margins...trim the glass, bolt the sliders together...don't forget the metal paint...mount the glass back to back, using silicone glue...bolt on some feet. Good, or what?

The original cast glass was supposed to hark back to ancient fertility figures, and I think it does. These two-sided figures look wonderful with light shining through.

There were only two Idols, and can't be more because the materials are used up. Lucky there were this many.
