Experimental Rondell Platter

Glass with frit and black glass enamel, 2012, ~15"x15".

Ah, what a beautiful effect this frit creates in combination with light! With light reflecting off the front side, the glass appears blue with tiny bubbles and amber flashes in it. With light coming through from the back side, as in upper left, the mixed blue and amber color of the glass is apparent. From the back, this piece is a magnificent fretted teal green color. Light falling through the piece onto the background repeats the amber color in the shadow.
