Birds Flying

Glass and fishline, variable dimensions.

The fishline seemed to have a mind of its own, and curled and bounced in a way I liked. That’s why if you look very closely you can see the trace of the lines. This was an installation piece, specific to that location. Later I sold quite a few of these birds, though some remain.

I called these “bird shapes” rather than “birds” because they are so abstract, and made about 50 of them over a few months. These were an end-of-term gift from a professor to her Arts Management class at American University. Photo by Anne L’Ecuyer.
