Woman in Checked Blouse

I made this drawing in ceramic pencil, then sandwiched it between two sheets of glass and melted it all together. This is the pre-fire picture, which was fired face-down and thus reversed itself in the final version.

Glass with ceramic pencil, 2012, ~10”x12”.

The image was drawn with ceramic pencil and fired into the glass, then backed with white and framed in steel. By comparing this finished piece with the drawing in draft form before firing, you can see how unpredictable drawing in glass is!
