Homo Sapiens

Pen on toned paper, with colored pencil and chalk, 2004, 9”x12”

Galerie de Paleontologie et d'Anatomie Comparee, Paris. This was a full skeleton of Homo sapiens sapiens, but with no indication of its actual provenance. Since I was standing in the walkway of the gallery, people brushing by, and my paper was small, I just did what I could. The gallery is lit only with natural light, a wonderful advantage in delineating shadows. I loved this process of drawing from the physical form.
