This piece shows well on a steel stand that I had made for another purpose, but this is its highest and best use. I had made the original drawing earlier. This image was made by sifting glass frit onto the glass set on a light box, and then pushing it around with a shaper similar to a paintbrush but with a rubber tip. The glass frit is about the texture of refined sugar. When it was right, I kiln-fired the frit to bake it into the glass, but barely, so that it doesn't come off but still has that gritty texture. She seems to me to be full of grit.
