Aluminum body cast from carved styrofoam at DC Glassworks. Packed the styrofoam in damp sand, melted the metal in a crucible using natural gas jazzed up with compressed oxygen, and then stand back! Lift the crucible with long tongs, pour the boiling aluminum into the sand mold, and the styrofoam explodes in a tower of flame. Really impressive.
Glass legs kiln-cast at the WGS studio. The dome on top is a found object, and inside I painted a face in oils, see detail view. Sold.
